My name is Ella Hardin & I’m training to work in advertising and marketing , based out of Wilmington and Chapel Hill, NC. I am a junior, attending UNC-Chapel Hill.
An Introduction
When I was little, all I wanted to be was a famous movie director (like George Lucas). I moved on to wanting to be a screenwriter when I was 11. Then when I was 15, I switched gears. I wanted to be a Chinese translator. Now at 21, I'm attending the Hussman School of Journalism and Media at UNC-Chapel Hill and I'm getting a degree in something that all these things have in common: learning to communicate and tell a good story.
In school, I'm learning to translate my passion for communication and visual design into something meaningful. Take a look at my portfolio to see a few of the things I’ve accomplished at school as well as during my past internship with with Cape Fear Community College during the summer of 2025.

Why I Love Design
Design is a process of planning, preparation, and hidden meanings. It’s the type of art where you don’t necessarily have to be the best artist in the room, but if you understand the science you can learn to be really great at it.
My Goals
I’m looking for a role where I can be creative and make an impact. I’d like to stay close to Wilmington, NC, which is where I grew up. I’m also looking for a place where I can grow and learn from professionals.
